Facts About Tick Bites:
Tick bites can sometimes lead to various health issues, especially if the tick is infected with harmful pathogens.
Symptoms of Tick Bites:
Redness and Swelling: The area around the bite might become red and swollen.
Itching or Rash: Some people may experience itching, while others might develop a rash.
Flu-like Symptoms: Infected ticks can transmit diseases that cause flu-like symptoms, such as fever, chills, and fatigue.
Target-like Rash: A specific type of rash, often described as a “bull’s-eye,” may indicate Lyme disease.
Lyme Disease Symptoms:
A circular, red rash with a lighter center that often resembles a bull’s-eye.
Flu-like Symptoms: Fever, chills, fatigue, body aches, headache, and swollen lymph nodes.
Multiple Rashes: Other rashes or lesions may appear on different parts of the body.
Neurological Issues: Symptoms may include facial palsy (loss of muscle tone on one or both sides of the face), severe headaches, and neck stiffness.
Some may experience Lyme carditis, which can cause irregular heartbeats (palpitations).
Late Stage (months to years after infection):
Arthritis: Severe joint pain and swelling, particularly in the knees.
Neurological Disorders: Chronic fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and other cognitive issues, sometimes referred to as “Lyme brain.”
