What is Telemedicine?

Telemedicine is a visit with one of our practitioners right from the comfort of your own home. When scheduling a virtual visit, there is no need to travel. Simply select a convenient time from our online booking system and complete an easy video call. Our practitioners can evaluate your symptoms and determine if COVID-19 testing is required for your specific situation. We can also assess other medical concerns as well as advice on treatments, make a diagnosis and send prescriptions as needed directly to your pharmacy.

How does Telemedicine work?

Telemedicine, or virtual visits work just like a FaceTime or Skype program. Likewise, it works on any smartphone device, tablet, or desktop. In fact, you do not need to download any software or applications for this service. Specifically, please be sure the device you are using for this call has a camera and a microphone. We make it as simple as possible for you to get the care you need right from the comfort of your home.

Can I still see a practitioner in person at the urgent care center?

Indeed, We are taking all the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our staff and patients. Illnesses and visits that require a practitioner to evaluate you on site will be performed upon evaluation. We are still treating patients in our safe, clean, accredited urgent care centers.

Will my insurance cover a Telemedicine Visit?

Medicare and most commercial insurance companies have temporarily expanded their telehealth coverage to respond to the current Public Health Emergency, and are now covering telemedicine and curbside medical care. We understand that, during this time, patients can receive medical care through telehealth visits and have coverage. Many commercial insurance carriers have agreed to waive co-pays and deductibles for virtual visits related to COVID-19. Therefore, we will not collect a co-payment at the time of service, but we will follow your insurance carrier’s Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) once we receive them.

Our Urgent Care Centers are open 7 days a week with convenient hours. In addition to COVID testing, we are still providing urgent medical care to our community on a regular basis. Our center is clean, safe and nationally accredited by the UCA.

Stay safe and thank you for being our patient.
